Island Architecture
Most Maldivian islands have a good side and a rocky side. Kottefaru is ringed by soft white sand for its entire circumference — so you can walk it barefoot end to end, and catch both sunrise and sunset from the sand without moving villas.
Raa Atoll is one of the few Maldivian regions where manta rays are sighted through most of the year rather than in a short season. The resort's PADI 5-star dive centre, run by Ocean Dimensions, reaches more than 30 sites including Kottefaru Thila just minutes offshore.
ETERNITY Spa occupies its own garden quarter of the island with 18 treatment rooms — among the largest spa facilities in the Maldives. Couples' suites, a foot spa lounge, and regular yoga sessions sit within the tropical vegetation rather than in a single central building.

Ocean Dimensions runs a PADI 5-star centre on the island, reaching more than 30 dive sites in Raa Atoll — including Kottefaru Thila just minutes offshore. Guided dives, equipment rental and full certification courses are all available, and Raa is one of the stronger regions in the Maldives for manta ray encounters.
Gabbe Water Sports handles the motorised side — jet skiing, parasailing, wakeboarding, windsurfing and catamaran sailing — while kayaks, canoes and paddleboards are available from the water sports centre. Off the island, there's a dolphin cruise at sunset, big game fishing, guided snorkeling safaris and local island visits — one guided snorkeling boat trip is already included in your package.
Eighteen treatment rooms spread through a garden spa village rather than a single building — therapeutic massages, advanced facial treatments, couples' rooms, a foot spa lounge and regular yoga. One of the largest spa facilities on any Maldivian island.
The Kids Club runs supervised activities for ages 4–11, and babysitting can be arranged. Beyond that: a fully equipped gym, tennis, table tennis, billiards, foosball and darts, Bodu Beru drumming performances in the evenings, and an on-island art gallery holding over a thousand pieces by Maldivian artists.

Seaplane Transfer
40 minutes from Malé International Airport

Brennia Kottefaru sits 157 km northwest of Malé in Raa Atoll, reached by a scenic 40-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport — the aerial run over the atolls is worth the window seat on its own.

One thing to plan around: seaplanes only fly in daylight, so your international flight should land in Malé before 3:00 PM to connect the same day. Land later and you'll overnight in Malé and fly across the next morning — we'll flag this when we check your flights.

Yes — all ages are welcome and there's no minimum age for check-in. The Kids Club runs supervised activities for ages 4–11, and babysitting can be arranged. For safety, the resort recommends beach villas rather than overwater villas for children under 10, and asks parents to sign a disclaimer if you do book a water villa with a younger child.

Honest answer: the house reef is decent but not the island's strongest feature — guests report patchy coral in places, and reef shoes are worth packing for entry. Raa Atoll is one of the better manta regions in the Maldives, and the dive centre reaches Kottefaru Thila and 30+ nearby sites.
