Opened in November 2024 in North Malé Atoll, Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives is built around something no other resort in the country had attempted — a full outdoor water complex with pools, slides, splash zones, a water playground and the Maldives' first lazy river. Its 145 beach and overwater villas are designed for people travelling together: bunk beds sit alongside king beds, and every category has its own outdoor bathtub, jacuzzi or pool. As one half of The Atollia by Centara, guests can also cross to sister island Centara Grand Lagoon — and the island's own PADI 5-star dive centre puts the house reef within swimming distance of the jetty.

A gentle current carries you in a loop around the water complex, past tropical planting, for as long as you feel like staying in the ring. Centara built the country's first one here — it's the thing guests come back to twice a day, and the thing no other Maldivian island can offer you.
Swimming pools, a dedicated kids' pool, water slides, splash zones and a water playground make up an outdoor complex on a scale the Maldives hadn't tried before — enough to fill an entire day without anyone asking what's next. Access comes with your stay.
Most overwater villas in the Maldives are built for two people. Here, every category with "Mirage" in its name carries two bunk beds as standard — overwater ones included — so a family of four sleeps above the lagoon instead of splitting across two rooms. And every category, beach or overwater, has its own outdoor bathtub, jacuzzi or pool.
Next door to the adult SPA Cenvaree sits the Candy Spa — candy-print walls, edible face masks, candy-themed manicures and gentle pedicures, for ages 4 to 11. It's the first Candy Spa Centara has opened in the Maldives, and it buys parents an hour they weren't expecting.
Centara Mirage Lagoon and Centara Grand Lagoon sit side by side as The Atollia by Centara. Guests can cross to the quieter Grand Lagoon island and use its facilities — and on the Atollia Meal Plan, its restaurants open up too, giving you two resorts' worth of variety on one holiday.

Reading the room names: anything with Mirage in the name comes with two bunk beds as standard — those are the family categories, and the ones without it are built for couples. Panoramic rooms sit on the first floor for the elevated view; Beachfront rooms are on the ground floor with the sand a few steps away.

The island's main restaurant — an airy space with live cooking stations, indoor and alfresco seating, and buffets built with children in mind. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served here, and it's where most families default to on a busy day.
A seafood-forward Italian osteria with an open kitchen, a pasta bar and a proper pizza oven. Sharing platters are the format here, which makes it the easiest of the specialty restaurants to bring children to.
Centara's signature Thai restaurant, run by Thai chefs and — by reviewers' accounts — not toned down for resort palates. Expect à la carte and degustation menus alongside a Thai omakase counter. Worth pre-booking.
The poolside stop between water park laps — cold drinks, light bites and something for the children, without anyone having to change out of a swimsuit. It's also where the sunset cocktail in the birthday and anniversary packages is served.
An ice cream parlour beside the Kids' Club, and quietly one of the most-used venues on the island. Handy leverage on the way back from the beach.

Best Dives Centara Mirage Lagoon is a PADI 5-star centre on the island, running courses from first-timer sessions through to certified dives, plus guided snorkeling on the house reef. Canoes and paddleboards come with your package; jet skis and other motorised sports are chargeable.
Supervised arts, crafts, board games, movies and marine biology sessions at the Kids' Club, a Games Room and an e-zone aimed at teenagers who've outgrown it, and the Candy Spa next door for ages 4 to 11 — edible face masks, candy-themed manicures and gentle pedicures.
Centara's own wellness brand, and the reason the Thai side of this resort isn't just branding — traditional Thai massage, Ayurvedic therapies and couples treatments delivered by therapists trained within the group.
Dolphin cruises, sunset fishing and sandbank trips run out into North Malé Atoll, and the fitness centre is open around the clock. Guests can also cross to Centara Grand Lagoon and use the facilities on the quieter of the two Atollia islands.

Centara representatives meet you in the arrivals hall and walk you to the boat — air-conditioned, with help for the luggage and the children. Transfers run around the clock, so a late-night landing doesn't cost you a night in a Malé hotel, and private boat transfers can be arranged if you'd rather travel on your own schedule.
