Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa sits on a 7-hectare private island in northern Raa Atoll, ringed by 1.2 km of beach and a 100-hectare lagoon. The house reef is the reason people book here: you walk in from the sand instead of boarding a boat, and eagle rays, reef sharks and turtles turn up on ordinary morning swims. The Deluxe All-Inclusive plan covers all five restaurants, including the à la carte dinner venues, so the bill at the end is the one you agreed to. The water villas carry an 8×3 m pool along the deck — long enough to swim in rather than sit in — and the spa's treatment rooms are raised into the palm canopy. The house reef sits close enough to the beach that you can wade in with a mask and be over live coral within a minute — no excursion, no schedule. Guests report eagle rays, stingrays, reef sharks, moray eels and turtles on ordinary morning swims, and there's a second entry near the Mediterraneo jetty where the coral looks completely different. The rock groynes along the beach hold fish in calm, shallow, wave-free water, which is where nervous swimmers and children end up spending most of their time.
The Water Villas with Pool carry an 8×3 m infinity pool along the deck — a pool you swim lengths in rather than a plunge pool you sit in. The Superior Water Villas stretch theirs to 4×10 m, and the Presidential Beach Villa has a 12×5 m pool plus a jacuzzi. When you'd rather swim in the sea, steps from the deck lead straight down into the lagoon.
The Deluxe All-Inclusive plan covers dinner at Mediterraneo over the water, Carnivorous's Brazilian churrasco and Le Asiatique's teppanyaki counter — not just the Aqua buffet with everything else billed as a supplement. Guests consistently report leaving without an itemised food bill, which on an island with no alternative restaurant is worth more than it sounds.
Emerald Spa's eight air-conditioned treatment rooms are raised treehouse-style into the island's interior canopy, using Elemis products with Thai and Balinese therapists. Steam room, outdoor plunge pools, relaxation deck and a yoga pavilion sit alongside them — and the sauna and plunge pools are free to use whether or not you book a treatment.
The Dolphin Kids Club takes ages 3 to 12 with a supervised programme — arts and crafts, movie nights on an outdoor screen, swimming — and seven two-bedroom Family Beach Villas with Pool are built around it. The island is 7 hectares, so couples still get quiet: the water villas sit out on their own jetties, well away from the family beach stretch and the kids club.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner in an open-air room right on the water, with some tables set directly in the sand. Live cooking stations rotate through Mediterranean, Japanese, Italian and Chinese, and there are vegetarian dishes at every service. This is the one venue that never needs a reservation.
Perched at the end of its own jetty over the lagoon — the signature dinner on the island and the one to book for a special evening. Mediterranean and Italian cooking with a seafood lean; the lobster pasta is included in the plan rather than surcharged. The reef edge right below the jetty is also one of the better snorkelling spots on the island.
Barefoot lunch by the beach — wood-fired pizza, pasta, burgers and grilled seafood, eaten in a swimsuit without changing. The easiest option with children, and the one most guests default to on beach days.
Air-conditioned pan-Asian dining above the Beach Club, with Thai dishes on the menu and a teppanyaki counter where the chef cooks in front of you. Sit at the counter if you want the show; take a table if you'd rather talk. Book ahead — the teppanyaki seats are limited.
Beachfront churrascaria where skewers of grilled meat are carved at the table until you stop them, with an appetiser buffet alongside. A genuine change of pace from seafood and buffets on a longer stay — and the sunset view across the water is the best of the dinner venues.
The daytime bar beside the main pool: cocktails, fresh juices and milkshakes, plus proper food if you don't want to leave your sunbed — mezze platters, tacos, wagyu burgers. Live music some evenings.
Where the island goes at 6 pm — Italian aperitivo hour with finger food, cocktails and private seating cubbies angled at the sunset. Stays open after dinner for the evening's live music.

Book your dinners on day one. Mediterraneo, Le Asiatique and Carnivorous are all included in your plan but seat a limited number each night. Guests who reserve their week on arrival get the tables they want; guests who leave it to the day tend to end up at the buffet.

Activities & Wellness
The thing you can do on day one for nothing — your gear is in the package and the reef is a walk from the beach. Eagle rays, stingrays, reef sharks, moray eels and turtles are all regular sightings, and the reef edge below the Mediterraneo jetty is a second, quite different entry worth doing separately. The rock groynes along the beach keep fish in shallow, calm water, which makes them the right place to start with children or a nervous swimmer.
The dive centre sits at the arrival jetty and runs the full range — try-dives in the lagoon for first-timers through to Open Water certification and guided reef and channel dives around Raa Atoll. Diving is charged separately from your all-inclusive plan, so budget for it if it's a priority; the courses fill up, and booking before arrival is worth doing.
Non-motorised equipment is free and unlimited: kayaks, paddleboards, pedal boards, windsurfing, Hobie Cat sailing and the glass-bottom boat. Jet skis and other motorised gear are charged. On land there's a Technogym-equipped fitness centre with personal trainers, a tennis court and a padel court — padel is still rare in the Maldives — plus complimentary bikes for getting around the island.
Eight air-conditioned treatment rooms raised treehouse-style into the palms, using Elemis products with Thai and Balinese therapists. Couples' treatments, massages and facials are bookable; the steam room, outdoor plunge pools and relaxation deck are free to use either way. There's a yoga pavilion with scheduled classes, and treatments for children if you're travelling as a family. Treatments sit outside the all-inclusive plan.
Supervised activities for ages 3 to 12 — arts and crafts, board games, video games, swimming, and movie nights on an outdoor screen with popcorn. For adults, the daily programme includes things worth turning up for rather than filler: sushi-making, cocktail mixology, HIIT sessions and yoga, all complimentary. Evenings bring live music at the bars.
Getting There
Seaplane Transfer
45 minutes from Malé International Airport

Your return seaplane transfer is included in the package. Resort representatives meet you on arrival at Malé and take you across to the seaplane terminal for the 45-minute flight north to Raa Atoll — low over the lagoons and reefs the whole way, and for most guests the first real view of the Maldives from the window.

Children are welcome at any age — this is not an adults-only island. The Dolphin Kids Club runs supervised activities for ages 3 to 12, and there are seven two-bedroom Family Beach Villas with Pool built for families.
All meals across the five restaurants, drinks through the day at both bars, and a minibar restocked daily. The à la carte dinner restaurants are part of the plan rather than a paid upgrade — they just need to be reserved in advance. Spa treatments, diving, motorised water sports and excursions beyond your included dolphin cruise are charged separately.

Vegetarian food is straightforward — Aqua's buffet carries vegetarian dishes at every service, and Le Asiatique's pan-Asian menu adds plenty more. The resort does not publish a dedicated Indian menu, so if Indian meals matter to you, tell us before you book and we will get it confirmed with the resort rather than have you find out at dinner.
